1985 – INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF YOUTH – winner – Brendan Woithe – song MUSIC CHANGE THE WORLD.
Released as a record & video clip in Australia & UK with 30 world artists singing the chorus including Elton John & Cliff Richard.
Song used by 2MMM in Sydney to promote the Live AID concert. Brendan & singer Armondo Hurley presented to HM The Queen by David Frost when the song closed the Royal Gala of Youth aired on Yorkshire TV on New Year’s Day 1986 – the International Year of Peace.
In 1985 Brendan appeared on Ray Martin’s Today & Mike Willisee’s A Current Affair programs. 1985 Peace Prize winner awards presented by Peter Garrett at Youth Live ’85 with 23,000 teenagers at Flemington Markets and 6 Rock bands including Mental as Anything, Divinyls, Machinations, Electric Pandas & Ganga gang.

AUSTRALIAN FLAG
1901 Commonwealth Flag Competition – 32,823 entries. Five winners received 40 Pounds each – splitting the 200 Pounds prize money.
One of the five winners was 14-year-old Ivor Evans (1877-1960) was the son of the founder of Evan & Evans flags who were commissioned to manufacture the first 100 Trilobal Outdoor SUNBURNT FLAGS IN 2006.
Flags Act 1953 proclaimed the design as Australia’s Official National Flag. Royal Assent from Queen Elizabeth II – 14 February 1954.
Blue Ensign became our National Flag and Red Ensign became the Civil Vessels Ensign. White for Naval Ensign, Sky Blue for RAAF Ensign.

DISCOVERED: 1996 BY STEPHEN BERRY – I asked the Aboriginal and Australian Flags how they could be mates.
REJECTED BY AUSFLAG: 1998 – Professional Design Competition – As copyright assignment had to be made to Ausflag unconditionally.
FIRST RAISED AT CIRCULAR QUAY AND SECOND FLAG SENT TO THE QUEEN: 1998 November 13 – 11am Live on Channel 10 Morning News. By a Migrant Aussie, Indigenous Aussie & 4th Generation Anglo Aussie.
1 metre sewn Sunburnt Flag sent to HM Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace with a note. “After too many years in the Aussie Sun the Union Jack has melted into the colours of the Earth, The Sky and the Stars.” (Like any Pom left out in the Aussie Sun too long.)
